Accountants & Auditors Get Priority Processing for Australia Immigration!

Accountants and auditors are among the 22 new occupations added to the Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List, including occupations facing a critical shortage of workers. Australia Immigration aspirants belonging to these priority occupations can avail faster visa processing for their Australia PR and temporary visa applications, provided they are sponsored for one of the following visas by an Australian employer:

  • Temporary Skill Shortage Visa
  • Skilled Employer-Sponsored Regional (Provisional) Visa
  • Employer Nomination Scheme Visa
  • Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme Visa

These workers are also exempt from international border restrictions but will have to undergo a 14-day quarantine period. The growing skill-shortage has prompted the government to welcome foreign nationals who can secure jobs in Australia in the following occupations:

  • Accountant (General) – ANZSCO 221111
  • Accountant (Taxation) – ANZSCO 221113
  • Accountant (Management) – ANZSCO 221112
  • External Auditor – ANZSCO 221213
  • Internal Auditor – ANZSCO 221214

While accountants are consistently in demand, there is also a very high demand for auditors in Australia. As per a CA ANZ survey in April, the 16 most prominent professional services firms had 888 auditor vacancies. Opportunities are being created for international talent and students in these fields to live in Australia long-term. Accountants applying for the General Skilled Migration visas typically need to meet a higher Australia PR Points Calculator cut-off.

There are now a total of 41 occupations on the Priority List.
