Australia extends invite to Techies, Chefs, Students, and Millennials

Good news for immigrants. With almost 1,800 chefs and yoga trainers gaining easy access, or students who can, with their post-work-study visas, can stay for four years. Moreover, with 1,000 millennials who can have both work and pleasure combined, Australia is now extending its arms to everyone. It has even become more accessible with the signing of Australia’s bilateral trade agreement with India.

Access doors have also been made open to Indian IT professionals and managers who can get up to four years of skills and work experience during their Immigration to Australia. They can work either as contractual workers on an onsite job or as part of an intra-company.

Apart from this, via mutual recognition agreements for professionals such as nurses and doctors, there shall be confirmation that Indian medical professionals shall also be recognized in Australia. Commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal stated post-signing of the Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (ECTA) that “We are planning to finalize these mutual recognition agreements in the next 12 months.”

As clarified by government officials, Visa concessions have been a significant benefit for India. It promises colossal profits for Indian students who have taken up diploma courses and are qualified for visas for 18 months until the end of their program.

Those with a bachelor’s degree can stay in Australia for two years as a part of their post-study work visa, and those completing their Master’s or bachelor’s can do the same for three to four years. Applicants between the age of 18 to 30 years can get a “work and holiday” visa for Australia.

For those in the corporate sector or working as contractual workers, these Australia PR visa concessions extend further and comprise engineering, consulting (excluding legal), architecture, and accounting. Australia has now opened a new chapter for immigrants choosing it as their ultimate destination for work, study, or business.
