Citizenship and Immigration Canada has decided to increase the processing fee for permanent residency application with effect from April 30th, 2020 at 9 a.m. EDT for overseas applicants wishing to permanently migrate to Canada.
The fee paid by individuals applying for Canada immigration will cover the cost of operational, processing, and service delivery costs for all permanent residency programs.
All applications received before April 30, 2020 will be processed in accordance to the current fee structure. However, any application received after the date the implementation without including the raised processing fee will be considered incomplete, hence will be returned to the applicant.
With the increase of the Canada PR process fee, prospective applicants under economic class must now pay the fee as per the following order:
Processing fee is expected to increase in two years starting in 2022-2023, the processing fee for the permanent residency application will likely to increase in every two years based on the applicable Consumer Price Index (CPI), which is rounded to the nearest $5.
