First Saskatchewan EOI Draw of 2020 Invite 308 candidates

Canada’s provinces and territories run Provincial Nominee Programs in collaboration with the federal government. These PNPs nominate eligible foreign nationals for permanent residence, in order to promote local economic growth. Saskatchewan immigration aspirants – including skilled workers, entrepreneurs, investors, farmers, etc. – can be nominated under various categories of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP).

Skilled workers interested in applying for this Canada PNP must first check if they are eligible to file an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the Express Entry category or the Occupations-in-Demand category under the International Skilled Worker EOI System. If they meet the minimum eligibility requirements, they can submit an online Expression of Interest to the SINP.

The Express Entry Category is dedicated towards those who have already lodged their profile in the Express Entry System, while the Occupations-in-Demand category caters to people who are highly skilled in an occupation that is facing labor shortages in Saskatchewan. Both categories have distinct eligibility parameters.

Each candidate is allocated a point score and rank, based on the information recorded in their EOI. Through regular invitation rounds, highest-ranking registrants who can fulfil the minimum point requirement – which varies with each round – are invited to apply for nomination.

On 9th January 2020, the Saskatchewan PNP invited 142 candidates under the Express Entry category and 166 candidates under the Occupations-in-Demand category to apply for nomination. Invited candidates scored 69 or more points in the SINP point assessment grid, and had Educational Credential Assessments.

Invited candidates must submit a complete application and supporting documents to the SINP, within 60 days of receiving the invitation. If the application is approved, the nominee can apply for Canada permanent residency to the federal authority – Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
