Moving to Canada though Provincial Nominee Program

Moving to Canada is a big Challenge. And, upon successfully achieving Canada Immigration through Provincial Nominee Program makes the process bit easier. The aspiring migrant will already have chosen province to settle in which clears the doubt of where to live in Canada. If you still have doubt, then continue reading.

What are the best places to live in Canada?

  • As a thumb rule, every immigrant ends up choosing one of the Canada’s three largest cities: Toronto (Ontario), Montreal (Québec), or Vancouver (British Columbia) to settle.
  • But little-known fact is that, those cities also tend to have higher cost of living. However, they’re still more affordable than their US counterparts; the average rent for a 1-bedroom in the notoriously expensive (for Canada) Toronto is around $1,423.
  • Meanwhile, if you keep digging you will find Canada’s most affordable cities like Winnipeg, Ottawa and Regina.

What are the amenities and opportunities in Canada?

  • Permanent residents can avail the benefit of provincial cover, but in some provinces will have to wait a few months for their provincial coverage to begin. Private comprehensive health insurance policies are available during that waiting period.
  • Cigna Global is a leader in these policies which provides 12-month cover for those moving to Canada, regardless of nationality or age.
  • Looking for and applying for jobs in Canada can become a lengthy process. So you must plan accordingly to ensure your welcome to Canada goes smoothly.

What is Canada Provincial Nominee Program?

Canadian Provinces can nominate immigrants to move to Canada through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Candidates must possess skills, education and work experience to contribute to the economy of that province. If you want to immigrate to Canada through Canada PNP, you must be nominated by that Canadian province or territory.

You must apply directly via Canada PNP for your chosen province where you want to immigrate. That particular province will determine whether you meet their local economic and labour market needs

  • Nomination under an Express Entry PNP stream:
  • If you are not in the Express Entry pool, you will need to complete an Express Entry profile. You can begin the process by using IRCC’s Come to Canada tool.
  • Nomination under a non-Express Entry PNP stream:
  • Permanent resident applicants who were nominated under a non-Express Entry PNP stream then they should apply for Canada PR Visa using the regular online application process
  • Each province has their own selection process and conditions to grant a Provincial Nominee Program Certificate.
