Pursue Canada Immigration to Work in the Booming Film & TV Sector

The Canadian film and television industry reopened in summer 2020 and has been welcoming industry professionals ever since. Total 87 productions are taking place in Ontario alone, with health and safety precautions being followed. The COVID positivity rate among film and TV crews in Ontario was less than 0.1% in the sample survey last year. The booming film and TV production industry provide ample job opportunities for Canada Immigration aspirants in several roles.

The industry creates jobs in Canada across major cities like Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal and provinces like Manitoba, Alberta, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland & Labrador. Foreign workers can qualify as business visitors or a work permit if entering for temporary work. However, those who wish to build a long-term career in the industry, earn more, and have a better work environment can apply for Canada PR.

Permanent residence can be obtained by applying through the Canada Express Entry Program. Those who do not qualify for that program can also apply for one of the Canada PNP pathways. Some common occupations that could seek more rewarding job prospects in Canada are:

  • Authors and Writers (NOC 5121)
  • Editors (NOC 5122)
  • Producers, Directors, Choreographers & related occupations (NOC 5131)
