What is EU Blue Card? Eligibility, Benefits and How To Apply

What Eligibility Requirements Must be met to settle in Germany via EU Blue Card?

  • You must hold a German degree or a foreign degree equivalent to Germany.
  • You already have a valid job offer issued by a German employer.
  • Have at least 5 years of work experience in the relevant field.
  • The job offer must align with your skills and qualifications.
  • The employment contract must meet the annual salary threshold of at least 58,400 euros. A reduced gross annual salary of at least 45,552 euros (in 2023) applies to jobs in the fields of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, engineering, and human medicine.

 

What EU Blue Card is designed for?

The EU Blue Card program aims to make Europe an attractive destination for skilled professionals from outside the European Union. All EU member states -except for Denmark and Ireland- run their EU Blue Card scheme.

The program follows a merit-based system to assess an individual’s ability to live and work in Germany. A person with enough merits or education is considered to have the sought-after skills.
