The EU Blue Card is valid for four years. If the duration of the employment is less than four years, the residence permit will be issued for the duration of the employment contract plus three months. The permit can be extended. Please note that any changes in the employment status within the first two years must be approved by the designated immigration office.

What are the minimum salary requirements for the EU Blue Card?

The process of applying for an EU Blue Card requires an applicant to earn roughly 1.5 times the average gross salary of the host country. Each country specifies its annual salary threshold that visa applicants must fulfill to be considered eligible for the visa process. For example- in France, the minimum salary threshold is set at €53,836.50, whereas in Germany, it is €53,836.50. In other countries like Italy, the minimum requirement is €24,789 annually.

What is the processing time for an EU Blue Card?

Generally, it takes around 90 days for immigration authorities to process an EU blue card. However, the exact time varies from country of residence and where you intend to live in Europe.
