Age: If you’re between 25 and 32 years old, you can get a maximum of 30 points. You must be younger than 45 to apply for a PR visa.

English Skills: Scoring 8 bands in the IELTS exam can give you up to 20 points. You can also take other English tests like PTE to achieve the required score.

Work Experience: If you have over 8 years of work experience outside Australia in the last 10 years, you get 15 points. Having 8 to 10 years of experience in Australia when you apply can give you a maximum of 20 points. More experience means more points.

Language Proficiency: You need to prove that you are good at English.

Skilled Occupation Lists (SOL): You must pick a job from specific lists of jobs that Australia needs. These lists get updated regularly.

There are three types of lists:

• MLTSSL (Medium- and Long-term Strategic Skills List)
• STSOL (Short-term Skilled Occupation List)
• ROL (Regional Occupations List)

 

Spouse Application: If your spouse is also applying for the PR visa, you can earn extra 10 points on your Skill Select Expression of Interest, but your spouse must meet these requirements:

• Your spouse should be under 45 years old.
• Your spouse should have a basic competent level of English proficiency.
• Your spouse’s job occupation code should be on the same list as the primary applicant’s occupation.
