Migrate to Australia: Check Eligibility for Australia PR Process

Getting Australian Permanent Resident (PR) status means you have a permanent residence visa, but it doesn’t make you an Australian citizen. As a PR, you can live, work, and study in Australia for 5 years. After living in Australia with PR status for 4 years, you can apply for citizenship, provided you meet the necessary criteria. To understand more, you can check eligibility for Australia PR at any time.

Australia PR Eligibility Criteria

The fundamental criteria for qualifying for an Australian PR include:

  • 45 years of age
  • 65 points in the Australian points evaluation
  • Valid skills assessment
  • IELTS or PTE score
  • Health insurance
  • Police verification certificate

Australia PR Process

The Australia PR process typically involves three key stages:

  • Australia Skill Assessment: This is done by an authorized skill assessment body. You can speed up their response by quickly submitting all required documents.
  • Australia PR Visa Approval: After you submit the necessary documents, the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) thoroughly reviews your profile. They will issue a visa grant if you fulfill their specific criteria.
  • Preparation for Departure: Once you receive approval for your Australia PR visa, you need to move to Australia by the initial entry date stated in your visa grant letter.

The Australian government offers different routes for foreigners to gain Permanent Residency in Australia. Notably, for Indians, the process has become more accessible recently, especially when applying through a Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189) or a Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190).

Australia PR Requirements

To migrate to Australia and get an Australia PR visa, you need at least 65 points. If you score more points, your chances of getting invited to apply for the visa are better.
