Top Employers in British Columbia: List for BCPNP Applicants

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program nominates foreign skilled workers for permanent residence to Canada’s federal immigration authority – Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. In order to be authorized to permanently live and work in BC through this pathway, aspirants must register online for a relevant category or ‘stream’ of the BC PNP, and fulfill the relevant eligibility criteria for nomination.

Under most skilled immigration streams, candidates are attributed points based on several selection factors. The highest-scoring registrants are then invited to apply for provincial nomination. The Canada PNP is operated by the local government authority or a province or territory, in collaboration with the federal government. Thus, if nominated, the candidate must apply for permanent residence to IRCC, which is responsible for granting permanent resident status to the immigrant.

In order to qualify for a British Columbia PNP stream, candidates may be required to obtain a valid job offer from an employer in the province. Obtaining an offer of employment is not an easy task. However, knowing which employers to reach out to is a useful starting point, as it allows the job seeker to contact suitable employers – directly or through a recruitment agency – and secure a job offer, thus gaining a major advantage in the process of immigration.

For this purpose, Canada immigration aspirants who are interested in moving to BC should be aware of the organizations that employ the most number of workers in this province. As reported by The Vancouver Sun, the below mentioned businesses feature among the top employers in BC. The list was compiled based on the physical workspace, work and social atmosphere, vacation days and time off, performance management, employee communications, community involvement, training and skill development, financial, health and family benefits.
