  • Be nominated to apply by a state or territory government agency, or an eligible relative must sponsor you
  • Secure at least 65 points
  • Be under 45 years of age on the Australian points table.
  • Have an occupation featured on the relevant list of occupations
  • Have a positive assessment of your nominated occupation and skills by a relevant assessing body
  • Be invited to apply for the visa
  • Meet health and character requirements.

What this visa lets you do?

  • While the subclass 491 visa restricts the beneficiary to live and work in regional Australia for a five years only, they can actually apply for permanent residency after three years of living and working in a regional area. However, they must maintain an annual salary of AUD$53 900, before applying for Permanent Residency visa the skilled work regional (provisional) visa.
  • As a permanent resident in Australia, you can access Medicare, state-funded education, and other social benefits.
  • You can also sponsor your eligible family members to join you in Australia.
